Job Description: Server and IT Support Specialist (L2, L3 Must)
Position Overview: Weare seeking a skilled and proactive Server and IT Support Specialist to manage and maintain the local server infrastructure (IIS) and provide comprehensive IT support to both server and client-side operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing computer networks, configuring and troubleshooting IP addresses (static and dynamic), and resolving email-related issues, ensuring seamless IT operations for the company.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Server Management: ○ Manageandmaintain the local server, including IIS (Internet Information Services) configuration and optimization. ○ Ensure server uptime, performance, and security through regular monitoring and updates. ○ Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot hosted applications and websites on IIS. ○ Manageserver hosting and ensure seamless deployment of applications. ○ Firewall management and IP Whitelisting & Blacklisting ○ Static IP setup & configuration + Shared IP server management
2. Network Management: ○ Configure and manage static and dynamic IP addresses for company computers and devices. ○ Monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity issues. ○ Ensure network security and manage access control.
3. Client-Side IT Support: ○ Provide technical support to employees for software and hardware issues. ○ Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and applications on client machines. ○ Troubleshoot email-related problems, including server-client communication issues and email client configurations.
4. System Administration: ○ Perform regular backups and ensure data recovery processes are in place. ○ Manageuser accounts, permissions, and access rights on the network. ○ Maintain documentation for IT infrastructure, including network diagrams and system configurations.
5. Server-Side and Cloud Operations: ○ Usetools like PuTTY, SSH, and CloudShell to execute commands and manage server-side tasks. ○ Basic knowledge of AWS or DevOps practices is a plus. ○ Familiarity with cloud hosting and server optimization best practices.
6. IT Issue Resolution: ○ Diagnose and resolve IT issues, escalating complex problems to external vendors or advanced support when necessary. ○ Track and manage IT service requests using a ticketing system.
7. Security and Compliance: ○ Implement and maintain IT security policies and procedures. ○ Ensure compliance with company and industry IT standards. Qualifications and Skills: ● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
● Proven experience in managing IIS servers and network administration.
● Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting IP addressing (static and dynamic).
● Strong understanding of network protocols, DNS, and DHCP.
● Experience with email systems (e.g., Exchange, Outlook, etc.) and troubleshooting email-related issues.
● Hands-on experience with PuTTY, SSH, and CloudShell for server-side tasks.
● Familiarity with AWS or DevOps practices is highly desirable.
● Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills:
● Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CompTIA Network+, or similar.
● Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud services
