We are seeking a passionate and organized School Librarian to join our educational team. As a School Librarian at Brilliant Public School, you will play a crucial role in promoting a love for reading, facilitating access to information, and supporting students and educators in their academic and literary pursuits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the school library, ensuring a well-organized and inviting learning environment.
• Select, acquire, and catalog books, periodicals, digital resources, and other educational materials.
• Assist students, teachers, and staff in locating and accessing resources that support their academic and recreational reading needs.
• Promote and instill a love of reading and literacy through library programs, book clubs, and reading initiatives.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources and services into the curriculum.
• Teach information literacy and research skills, guiding students in finding and evaluating sources for academic projects.
• Oversee library budget, ordering, and maintaining an inventory of materials.
• Maintain the library's digital and physical catalog and databases.
• Ensure the library's compliance with copyright laws and ethical use of resources.
• Supervise library assistants or volunteers if applicable.
• Keep up-to-date with developments in library science and educational technology.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field. A master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) is preferred.
• Previous experience as a School Librarian or librarian assistant is a plus.
• Proficiency in library management systems and digital cataloging.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for promoting literacy, research skills, and the value of libraries in education.
