Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

1. Assessment and Planning

   • Assess students' learning abilities, needs, and challenges using various tools and techniques.
   • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
   • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to set learning goals.

2. Instruction and Adaptation

   • Design and deliver specialized instruction to meet diverse learning styles.
   • Modify and adapt curriculum, teaching methods, and classroom environments to accommodate specific needs.
   • Utilize assistive technologies and other resources to support learning.

3. Behavior Management and Support

   • Implement strategies to support positive behavior and manage challenging behaviors.
   • Teach social, emotional, and life skills where applicable.

4. Collaboration and Advocacy

   • Work with general educators, therapists, and school administrators to ensure inclusion and accessibility.
   • Advocate for appropriate accommodations and resources for students.

5. Documentation and Progress Monitoring

   • Maintain detailed records of students’ progress and challenges.
   • Regularly review and update IEPs based on student growth and evolving needs.

6. Professional Development

   • Stay updated on best practices, educational technologies, and legal requirements in special education.
   • Participate in training, workshops, and conferences.
