Job Title: USA Counsellor

Location: Bangalore - Jayanagar - WFO  (5 Days)

Job Type: Full-Time


Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced USA Counsellor to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge of the USA education system and have a proven track record in providing expert counselling for students aspiring to study in the USA. The USA Counsellor will provide guidance and support to students in selecting educational programs, preparing for standardized tests, understanding visa processes, and managing the entire application journey to U.S. institutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Counselling: Offer expert guidance to students on academic options, university selection, course prerequisites, and visa requirements for studying in the USA.

  • Application Process Support: Assist students with the application process for U.S. universities, including guidance on documentation, essays, and interviews.

  • Visa Assistance: Help students navigate the U.S. visa application process and provide updates on changes to visa laws and procedures.

  • Standardized Testing Guidance: Advise students on required standardized tests (e.g., SAT, GRE, TOEFL, IELTS) and assist with registration and preparation resources.

  • Educational and Career Planning: Help students align their academic goals with their career aspirations, ensuring that chosen U.S. programs meet their long-term objectives.

  • Communication & Updates: Keep students informed on deadlines, program changes, and scholarship opportunities for U.S. institutions.

  • Research & Knowledge Maintenance: Stay updated on current trends, university programs, and admission requirements in the U.S. to provide accurate and relevant advice.

  • Networking & Partnerships: Establish and maintain relationships with U.S. universities, educational consultants, and other institutions to enhance counselling services and create more opportunities for students.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience in USA education counselling, with a solid understanding of U.S. higher education, admissions procedures, and visa policies.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly explain complex information to students and their families.

  • Expert Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of U.S. university admission processes, standardized tests (e.g., SAT, GRE, TOEFL, IELTS), visa requirements, and scholarship opportunities.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to handle challenging situations and provide solutions to students’ academic and personal concerns.

  • Customer Service Orientation: A friendly, approachable, and empathetic demeanor with a passion for helping students achieve their academic goals.

  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using counselling software, communication tools, and research platforms to support students.


Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience working directly with U.S. universities or educational institutions.
  • Knowledge of U.S. student visa regulations (F1, J1) and experience in handling visa-related queries.
  • Familiarity with U.S. cultural norms and the educational environment.
