04.12.24   HPS/2024/743 Plasma Cutting / CNC Male 1 2 to 3 DME/ITI

 

A plasma cutter, also known as a plasma cutting machine operator, is responsible for cutting and shaping metal using a plasma torch: 
 
 
 
  • Operating equipment: Set up and operate a CNC cutting machine, electrical beveling machine, overhead crane, and forklift 
     
     
     
  • Cutting: Use a plasma torch to cut and shape metal by burning it with a stream of superheated ionized gas 
     
     
     
  • Quality control: Verify the thickness and dimensions of products to ensure high quality 
     
     
     
  • Record keeping: Record data about the products being produced 
     
     
     
  • Other duties: Perform other duties as assigned, such as grinding, removing scrap, and routine machine maintenance 
     
     
     
Plasma cutters work in a variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive, transportation, industrial construction, and precision manufacturing. 
 
 
 
 
Plasma cutting environments can be heavy industrial, with exposure to dust, chemical fumes, weld smoke, and loud noises. Proper personal protective equipment is required, such as steel-toed boots, ear plugs, safety glasses, pants, and a hard hat. 
 
A CNC operator, also known as a machinist, is responsible for operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine to perform tasks like cutting, drilling, and shaping materials. Their duties include: 
 
 
 
    • Setting up and operating the machine
      CNC operators set up the machine, load materials, and secure them. They also interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine the machine's settings and adjustments. 
       
       
       
    • Maintaining the machine
      CNC operators perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure the machine is running smoothly. They also maintain coolant and oil levels. 
       
       
       
  • Inspecting and quality assurance
    CNC operators inspect the finished products to ensure they meet specifications and blueprints. They also perform quality assurance on the machinery. 
     
     
     
  • Following safety guidelines
    CNC operators follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment. 
     
     
     
  • Other responsibilities
    CNC operators may also plan stock inventory, order parts, and keep records of the machine's actions. 
     
     
     
CNC operators need to be highly skilled and have knowledge of the machine's software and hardware. They also need to be able to read blueprints and have mathematical skills to check dimensions and tolerances.
