JOB SUMMARY -
A mechanical fitter's job is to assemble, install, and repair heavy machinery and equipment. They work in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, industrial, and mining. Their responsibilities include:
- Fabricating: Using specialized tools and machinery to cut, grind, and shape metal and other materials
- Assembling: Reading blueprints and schematics to construct structural components and assemble parts into functional equipment
