A molding machine operator's job description includes operating machinery, inspecting products, and maintaining the work area:

Operating machineryOperate molding machines to produce parts, such as plastic or metal. This may include mixing catalysts and coloring pigments, pouring product into the mold, and removing the cured product.

Inspecting productsVisually inspect molded parts for surface defects and flaws. This may also include measuring products to ensure they meet customer specifications.

Maintaining the work areaKeep the work area and equipment clean and orderly. This may include cleaning around the press and grinding runners and rejected parts.

Other responsibilitiesThis may include:
- Packaging and labeling products
- Generating production paperwork
- Assisting with production line startup and shutdown
- Detecting and reporting defective materials
- Following safety regulations
- Reading and following operating manuals and work instructions
