2D Artist Responsibilities:
- Character Design: Create visually appealing and unique characters, ensuring consistency in design, proportions, and style.
- Environment Design: Design 2D backgrounds, landscapes, and environments with attention to detail, atmosphere, and composition.
- UI/UX Design: Design user interfaces, icons, menus, and HUD elements for various digital products.
- Illustration: Create illustrations for concepts, storyboards, promotional material, or assets for games, apps, or animations.
- Concept Art: Work with the creative team to develop and visualize initial concepts for characters, environments, and other project assets.
- Texturing: Create textures, patterns, and visual effects in 2D for both game environments and characters.
3D Artist Responsibilities:
- 3D Modeling: Create detailed 3D models of characters, props, and environments using tools like Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
- Texturing and Shading: Apply realistic and stylized textures to 3D models, including materials, shaders, and UV mapping.
- Rigging and Animation: Rig and animate 3D models for game characters, creatures, or other dynamic objects.
- Lighting and Rendering: Set up lighting for scenes and ensure high-quality rendering to match the desired aesthetic.
- Integration: Optimize 3D models for integration into game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) or other platforms.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the game or animation team to ensure that assets are integrated correctly into the production pipeline.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in 2D & 3D Design Software:
- 2D: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Clip Studio Paint, or similar software.
- 3D: Maya, Blender, ZBrush, 3ds Max, or equivalent software.
- Understanding of 3D Modeling: High proficiency in creating optimized and visually appealing 3D models.
- Strong Understanding of Art Fundamentals: Solid knowledge of anatomy, lighting, perspective, and composition.
- Animation Skills: Experience with rigging, character animation, and procedural animation techniques.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to create assets that are both visually appealing and technically functional.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of working through challenges related to art integration, optimization, and performance.
- Experience with Game Engines: Familiarity with Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar engines for asset integration.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating experience in both 2D and 3D art, including examples of characters, environments, and other creative assets.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams (design, programming, etc.).
