Deputy Manager (Industrial Engineering)

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Optimization:
1. Analyze and improve existing production processes.
2. Implement lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and improve workflow.
3. Monitor production flow, and suggest improvements for smoother operations.
2. Work Study & Time Study:
1. Conduct time and motion studies to assess production timings and set standard times.
2. Identify bottlenecks and optimize production capacity.
3. Evaluate operator performance based on time study data and suggest productivity enhancements.
3. Process Engineering:
1. Develop, evaluate, and improve garment manufacturing processes.
2. Create process flows and layouts for efficient production.
3. Work with production teams to implement new processes.
4. Cost Reduction:
1. Identify areas for cost reduction in terms of labor, materials, and overheads.
2. Suggest methods to increase productivity and reduce operational costs without compromising quality.
5. Factory Layout Planning:
1. Design and implement layouts for machines, workstations, and production lines to maximize efficiency.
2. Ensure optimal use of space and resources.
6. Data Analysis & Reporting:
1. Analyze production data and prepare reports to monitor production efficiency and suggest improvements.
2. Use data to predict production outcomes and proactively solve problems.
7. Quality Control:
1. Ensure production processes align with quality standards and BSCI audit requirements.
2. Work closely with the quality control team to ensure compliance with industry standards.
8. Training & Development:
1. Train operators and staff on best practices for improved efficiency.
2. Provide support in skill development for workers, especially in garment handling and machine operation.

Key Skills:

• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
• Expertise in time and motion studies.
• Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools like Excel, AutoCAD, and garment industry-specific software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with production and quality teams.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Knowledge of apparel production processes and techniques.
• Familiarity with compliance standards like BSCI, SEDEX, and ISO but not necessary

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Textile Engineering./ BFtech
• 5-7 years of experience in a similar role within the garment or textile industry.
• Familiarity with apparel machinery and production technologies.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
