Credit Analyst / Credit Underwriter ( Australian Mortgage )

Job Description:

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Assessor with experience in Australian mortgage underwriting. The candidate will be responsible for assessing loan applications, evaluating creditworthiness, and ensuring compliance with Australian lending guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess home loan applications in line with Australian lending policies and regulations
• Analyze applicant financials including income, liabilities, credit history, and repayment capacity
• Verify documents such as payslips, bank statements, tax returns, and employment details
• Calculate borrowing capacity and assess serviceability
• Identify risks and make informed credit decisions (approve/decline/refer)
• Ensure compliance with Responsible Lending Obligations (RLO) and internal policies
• Liaise with brokers, clients, and internal teams for additional information
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes
• Stay updated with changes in Australian mortgage policies and market trends

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in Australian Mortgage &  Credit Assessment
• Strong understanding of Australian lending guidelines and compliance
• Knowledge of tools like ApplyOnline, Mercury, Infinity, My CRM
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with Australian banks or mortgage brokers
• Knowledge of credit scoring models and risk assessment

Working Conditions:

• Shift timings aligned with Australian business hours
• 5 days working
