Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused IT Technician to support the technology infrastructure of our retail operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware, software, POS systems, and networks across retail stores and back-office environments. This role is essential in ensuring uninterrupted IT support to drive operational efficiency and enhance the customer experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support:

    • Provide first and second-level IT support for store and head office users.

    • Troubleshoot issues with desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, barcode scanners, and POS terminals.

    • Respond to and resolve helpdesk tickets in a timely manner.

  • Hardware & Software Management:

    • Install, configure, and maintain retail-specific hardware like POS systems, cash registers, and handheld devices.

    • Deploy and update operating systems, retail software, and applications.

    • Maintain hardware inventory and manage software licenses.

  • Network & Connectivity:

    • Monitor and troubleshoot store-level networks, routers, modems, switches, and Wi-Fi access points.

    • Ensure secure and stable internet connectivity across retail locations.

  • POS & Retail System Support:

    • Provide operational support for Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and peripherals.

    • Coordinate with vendors for POS software updates and maintenance.

    • Train store staff on POS usage and troubleshooting.

  • Security & Compliance:

    • Ensure antivirus, firewalls, and data protection systems are up-to-date.

    • Assist in implementing and enforcing IT security policies in retail operations.

    • Support data backup and recovery processes.

  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain records of system configurations, support requests, and resolutions.

    • Prepare reports on common issues and suggest process improvements.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in IT support, preferably in the retail sector.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Hands-on experience with Windows OS, networking protocols, and hardware troubleshooting.

    • Familiarity with retail systems including POS, barcode/RFID scanners, and inventory software.

    • Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365, and cloud applications.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Strong problem-solving ability and customer-service orientation.

    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple retail locations remotely.
