A skilled electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems in buildings and structures. They have expertise in a variety of electrical systems, tools, and safety regulations.

Here are some of the responsibilities of a skilled electrician:

Installing and repairing

Install electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures, and repair or replace them as needed
Testing and inspecting

Test electrical systems to ensure they are properly installed and operating, and inspect electrical components to identify problems
Connecting and connecting

Connect electrical systems to powerlines, and connect wiring to circuit breakers and other electrical hardware
Reading and following

Read blueprints and technical documents, and follow state and local building regulations
Directing and training

Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment
