A utility operator's job is to monitor, maintain, and repair utility systems in a building or facility. This includes systems such as:
Water supply, Electrical systems, Plumbing, HVAC, Steam boilers, Air compressors, and Cooling towers.
A utility operator's responsibilities may include:

Monitoring and maintaining systemsUsing control panels and surveillance systems to detect malfunctions, and performing routine maintenance checks

Diagnosing and correcting problemsInspecting affected systems and areas, and diagnosing and correcting utility problems

Performing preventive maintenanceImplementing preventive maintenance programs to identify and address potential issues before they cause system failures

Maintaining recordsMaintaining accurate documentation and records of all utility system operations, maintenance activities, and repairs

Collaborating with othersCoordinating utility shutdowns, repairs, and system upgrades with other departments and stakeholders
