Architect – ETL/BI
Job Description:
We are seeking an extraordinary and exceptional candidate for the position of ETL/BI Architect with expertise in SSIS and SQL Server. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in designing, developing, and managing SSIS/SQL ETL processes and database objects. You will be responsible for leading the design and development of robust ETL solutions, optimizing performance, and working with distributed teams on critical business systems. The role requires proficiency with Microsoft SSIS ETL tools, strong SQL skills, and the ability to work efficiently in high- pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. ETL Design and Development: Design, develop, and implement SQL Server stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers used in the ETL process. Design and develop SSIS/SQL ETL solutions for acquiring, transforming, and preparing data from upstream systems. Develop data transformations, including importing data from files and migrating data across different database platforms.
2. Debugging and Tuning: Debug and optimize SSIS or other ETL processes to ensure accurate and efficient data movement. Continuously improve the performance of ETL processes.
3. Database Design and Maintenance: Design, implement, and maintain database objects, including tables, views, and indexes. Ensure proper database security is implemented and maintained.
4. Data Transfer and Integration: Analyze and develop strategies for importing and transferring data between source systems, staging, and ODS/Data Warehouse destinations.
5. Testing and Documentation: Test and prepare ETL processes for deployment to production and non-production environments. Support system and acceptance testing, including refining test plans. Document work processes, including data flows (DFD, ERD) and end-user resources.
6. Collaboration and System Enhancements: Work as part of a team to manage and deliver quality system enhancements as required by business needs. Coordinate with distributed development teams to ensure successful delivery.
7. Advanced SSIS and SQL Expertise: Utilize thorough knowledge of SSIS components to transform data from diverse sources such as CSV, XML, and relational databases. Demonstrate deep expertise in Transact-SQL, particularly in stored procedure development.
8. Relational Database Design: Strong understanding of relational database design, including logical and physical design of star schemas and data cubes.
9. Additional Technologies (Optional): Knowledge of Power BI, SSRS, Azure Data Factory, and Big Data technologies (HDFS, Hbase, Hive, Scala, MongoDB, Spark) would be a plus.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in ETL/BI development with a strong focus on Microsoft SSIS and SQL Server.
- Exceptional expertise in SSIS (10+ years) and SQL Server (strong T-SQL, stored procedures, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with relational database logical and physical design.
- Experience working with distributed teams in global development environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, debugging, and performance-tuning expertise.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Power BI, SSRS, and Azure Data Factory.
Familiarity with Big Data technologies (HDFS, Hbase, Hive, Scala, MongoDB, Spark).
