Job Description for Chemists in the Paper Industry

Position: Chemist
Department: Quality Control/Research & Development/Production
Industry: Paper Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities:

We want to hire chemists for our factory. They will perform raw material, paper, and process parameters testing in the following areas:

• Stock Preparation: Analyze and test raw materials to ensure they meet quality standards for production.
• Paper Machine: Conduct in-process testing and monitoring of process parameters during paper production to ensure consistency and quality.
• Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP): Monitor and analyze effluent treatment processes to ensure compliance with environmental standards.

Additional responsibilities include:

1. Quality Control:

   • Perform chemical analysis and testing of finished paper products.
   • Ensure adherence to quality standards and industry regulations.

2. Production Support:

   • Optimize chemical usage and provide technical support for production processes.
   • Troubleshoot chemical-related issues on the production line.

3. Environmental Compliance:

   • Manage the effluent treatment process and ensure compliance with environmental norms.
   • Monitor emissions and waste management practices.

4. Safety and Training:

   • Ensure the safe handling and storage of chemicals.
   • Train staff on chemical safety protocols and operational procedures.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Maintain accurate records of test results and formulations.
   • Prepare reports for internal and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of papermaking processes, chemical applications, and effluent treatment.
• Proficiency in analytical techniques such as spectrophotometry and chromatography.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork abilities.

Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role is preferred, but freshers with relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply.
