Job Description:

Position Overview

Roop Industry is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Design Engineer + BOM (Bill of Materials) Calculations Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design engineering, product development, and materials management. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the design and manufacturing processes are streamlined and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design Engineering:

• Develop, design, and optimize products and components based on customer requirements and industry standards.
• Create 2D and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA).
• Perform feasibility analysis and design validation to ensure quality and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, and R&D) to implement innovative solutions.

2. BOM (Bill of Materials) Management:

• Prepare accurate and detailed BOMs for all projects, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Analyze material requirements, identify cost-saving opportunities, and work closely with procurement teams.
• Maintain and update BOMs to reflect engineering changes or revisions.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and project timelines.

3. Project Management:

• Lead and manage multiple design projects from concept to delivery.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely availability of materials.
• Monitor project progress and resolve technical challenges effectively.

4. Compliance and Documentation:

• Adhere to safety, regulatory, and environmental standards during the design and production phases.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including design drawings, test reports, and BOM records.
• Provide technical support to production teams during the manufacturing process.

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in design engineering and BOM management, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems for BOM and inventory management.
• Excellent understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
