Job Title: Workshop Manager – Passenger Car Dealership

Job Summary:

The Workshop Manager is responsible for managing the operations and service delivery of the passenger car dealership’s workshop. This includes overseeing the repair and maintenance of vehicles, managing workshop staff, ensuring high standards of customer service, and ensuring efficient and profitable operations. The ideal candidate will have managerial experience in a passenger car dealership, with a strong background in automotive service operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:

    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop to ensure that all vehicle repairs, maintenance, and service activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Ensure the workshop meets or exceeds productivity and quality targets, optimizing the workflow and resource allocation.
    • Monitor and manage the utilization of workshop equipment, tools, and resources to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Staff Leadership and Development:

    • Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of technicians, service advisors, and other workshop staff.
    • Conduct performance reviews and implement training and development plans to ensure continuous improvement and skills enhancement for all team members.
    • Ensure all team members adhere to safety standards, workshop policies, and customer service guidelines.
  • Customer Service Excellence:

    • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing any customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
    • Ensure that all service requests are met within the agreed timelines and according to manufacturer and industry standards.
    • Implement customer feedback processes and work on improving service quality continuously.
  • Financial and Resource Management:

    • Manage workshop budgets, monitor expenses, and control costs while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
    • Ensure that the workshop achieves its financial targets for revenue, parts sales, labor charges, and overall profitability.
    • Monitor inventory levels of parts, tools, and consumables to ensure the workshop runs smoothly without excessive stock or shortages.
  • Quality Control and Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, industry standards, and legal requirements, including vehicle repair and maintenance guidelines.
    • Implement quality control processes to ensure all work completed in the workshop meets both company and customer expectations.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment that complies with health and safety regulations.
  • Operational Reporting and Analysis:

    • Provide regular reports on workshop performance, including productivity, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and service delivery timelines.
    • Identify operational challenges, develop action plans, and implement solutions to improve workshop efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement necessary changes to improve results.
  • Business Development and Relationship Management:

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring high retention and repeat business.
    • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and parts departments to drive service-related promotions and campaigns.
    • Stay informed on industry trends and innovations in automotive repair and services to continuously improve workshop operations.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should be B.Tech/ Diploma in Mech Egg
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle repair, maintenance processes, and industry standards for passenger cars.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team, with excellent people management skills.
  • Solid understanding of financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and profitability.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
  • Familiarity with workshop management software and systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
