Job Summary:

The Bodyshop Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations of the bodyshop, specifically focused on the accident repair and restoration of passenger vehicles. This role involves managing staff, ensuring the highest quality of repairs, meeting customer expectations, managing inventory and parts, and achieving financial goals for the department. The ideal candidate should have managerial experience in the accident repair sector, preferably with a strong background in dealing with passenger vehicles.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:

    • Oversee all bodyshop operations, including accident repairs, vehicle assessments, and the scheduling of work.
    • Manage day-to-day bodyshop activities to ensure timely completion of repairs while maintaining high quality and efficiency.
    • Implement workflow procedures to maximize productivity and minimize downtime, while adhering to safety and repair standards.
  • Staff Management and Development:

    • Lead, train, and supervise bodyshop technicians, estimators, and support staff to ensure high standards of service and repairs.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide continuous feedback and coaching to team members.
    • Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages professional development and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Service and Satisfaction:

    • Ensure excellent customer service by maintaining clear communication with clients about repair progress, costs, and timelines.
    • Handle customer complaints or concerns efficiently and professionally to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Build strong relationships with insurance companies, fleet operators, and other stakeholders to ensure repeat business.
  • Quality Control and Compliance:

    • Maintain strict adherence to manufacturer repair guidelines, industry standards, and safety regulations during the repair process.
    • Oversee quality control checks for all completed repairs, ensuring they meet both internal and customer expectations.
    • Ensure all vehicles are properly inspected, and repairs are completed to the highest standard, with a focus on safety and durability.
  • Inventory and Resource Management:

    • Manage bodyshop inventory, including parts, tools, and consumables, ensuring adequate stock levels without overstocking.
    • Establish relationships with suppliers to secure the best parts at competitive prices.
    • Ensure that all equipment and tools are regularly maintained and in good working condition.
  • Financial and Budget Management:

    • Develop and manage the bodyshop’s budget, controlling operational costs while achieving revenue and profitability targets.
    • Monitor repair costs, labor rates, and material expenses to ensure cost-effective operations.
    • Ensure accurate estimates and invoices for services rendered, ensuring profitability without compromising quality.
  • Health and Safety Management:

    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the bodyshop.
    • Regularly conduct safety audits, inspections, and provide training to staff to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Oversee the proper disposal of hazardous materials and ensure adherence to environmental standards.
  • Reporting and Analysis:

    • Provide regular reports on bodyshop performance, including financial results, repair quality, and customer satisfaction.
    • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as labor productivity, repair turnaround time, and customer satisfaction levels to identify areas for improvement.
    • Develop and implement corrective actions when necessary to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should be B.Tech/ Diploma in Mech Egg
  • In-depth knowledge of bodyshop operations, accident repair processes, and vehicle restoration techniques for passenger cars.
  • Experience managing a team of technicians, estimators, and support staff in a bodyshop or accident repair facility.
  • Strong understanding of insurance claims processing and relationships with insurance companies.
  • Solid financial management skills, including budgeting, cost control, and pricing strategies.
  • Proficiency in bodyshop management software and estimating systems.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
