Job Description:
QC Mechanical" job description refers to a Quality Control position within a manufacturing or construction setting, specifically focused on ensuring the quality of mechanical components, systems, and installations by performing inspections, testing, and documentation to verify compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirementsthis includes checking dimensions, materials, functionality, and proper installation of mechanical equipment like pipes, pumps, HVAC systems, and more, often requiring strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of relevant quality control procedures. 
 
Key responsibilities of a QC Mechanical professional may include:
  • Inspections and Testing:
    • Performing visual inspections on mechanical components and assemblies to verify proper dimensions, alignment, and surface finish. 
       
    • Conducting functional tests on mechanical systems to ensure they operate as intended (e.g., pressure testing, flow rate checks). 
       
    • Checking material certifications and ensuring compliance with project specifications. 
       
    • Witnessing and documenting critical welding and fabrication processes. 
       
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintaining detailed inspection reports, including non-conformance reports (NCRs) for any quality issues identified. 
       
    • Preparing quality control documentation such as inspection test plans (ITPs) and punch lists. 
       
    • Recording data from inspections and tests in a standardized format. 
       
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Enforcing quality standards and procedures during installation and fabrication processes. 
       
    • Identifying potential quality issues and proactively addressing them with relevant stakeholders. 
       
    • Collaborating with project teams to ensure quality is maintained throughout the project lifecycle. 
       
  • Technical Skills:
    • Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and relevant industry codes and standards 
       
    • Proficiency with measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and pressure gauges 
       
    • Knowledge of welding inspection techniques (if applicable) 
       
    • Familiarity with relevant software for documentation and reporting
