Position: General Manager – Technical Services

Location: Mumbai / Daman

Reporting To: COO

Industry: Master batch Manufacturing (Plastics, Polymers, Additives)

Job Summary:

The General Manager – Technical Services will lead the technical and application development functions for the company's master batch division. The role involves Support in building culture of innovation, provide application specific services and support to customers and internal team, trouble shooting, and customer engagement to ensure high-quality solutions that meet industry and client demands.

 

  • Key Responsibilities:

& Product Development

  • Support product formulation and innovation in master batches (color, additive, white, black, and filler).
  • Oversee new product trials, quality testing, and performance validation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards (REACH, FDA, RoHS, etc.).
  1. Customer & Technical Support
  • Provide technical 1. Technical support to sales, marketing, and customers on master batch applications.
  • Troubleshoot processing issues related to injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, and film applications.
  • Collaborate with customers to develop customized solutions based on application needs.
  1. Innovation
  • Implement continuous improvement programs to enhance product performance and cost efficiency.
  • Keep up with global trends in plastic processing, sustainability, and new materials.
  1. Process Optimization & Quality Control
  • Work closely with production to optimize manufacturing processes and ensure consistency.
  • Establish and maintain quality control parameters for masterbatch production.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives without compromising product integrity.

 

  1. Team Leadership & Training
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a technical team of engineers.
  • Conduct training sessions for internal teams and customers on product applications and troubleshooting.
  1. Strategic & Business Support
  • Collaborate with sales & marketing to identify market needs and drive product positioning.
  • Assist in business development by providing technical insights to new opportunities.
  • Represent the company in technical conferences, industry forums, and trade fairs.
  1. Support in Customer Complaint Resolution
  • Attending to customer complaints & customer queries on technical matters
  • Analyzing the customer requirement / query and providing solutions
  • Ensuring effective coordination between the QA, R&D Team, Marketing Team and the customers for complaint resolution
  1. Support in new product testing, acceptance at customer end
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs by proposing new range of products or offering customized solutions.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
  • To conducting trials at customers end wherever required and convincing customers regarding the use of our products.

Key Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or Plastics Technology.
  • 15–20 years of experience in the master batch or plastics industry, with expertise in technical services, R&D, or process engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of polymer processing technologies (extrusion, molding, film blowing, etc.).

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting processing issues.
  • Ability to lead a team, manage projects, and interact with cross-functional departments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with global quality standards and regulatory requirements.
