Job Summary:

The Distribution Strategy Manager is responsible for developing, optimizing, and implementing distribution strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. This role involves analyzing market trends, evaluating distribution channels, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the company’s products reach customers effectively and profitably.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Optimization

  • Develop and implement comprehensive distribution strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behaviors, and competitor strategies to optimize distribution channels.
  • Identify new distribution opportunities and assess their potential impact on business growth.
  • Improve supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness through innovative distribution methods.

Operations & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with logistics, supply chain, and sales teams to enhance distribution operations.
  • Evaluate and optimize transportation, warehousing, and inventory management processes.
  • Implement technology-driven solutions to streamline distribution networks.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

Partnerships & Vendor Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics providers, distributors, and key stakeholders.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure the best distribution solutions for the company.
  • Evaluate partner performance and recommend improvements where necessary.

Financial & Risk Management

  • Develop and manage distribution budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Identify risks in the distribution network and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies related to distribution and logistics.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to align distribution strategies with business goals.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on distribution performance and improvements.
  • Lead projects focused on distribution enhancements and supply chain innovation.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain strategy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and data analysis tools.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices in distribution.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in e-commerce, retail, or manufacturing industries.
  • Familiarity with automation and digital transformation in supply chain management.
  • Previous experience in managing third-party logistics (3PL) relationships.
