Job Description:
Key responsibilities may include:
  • Design and Engineering:
    • Leading the design and engineering of new electrical systems or upgrades to existing ones, including equipment selection, power calculations, and system layout. 
       
    • Reviewing electrical drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements. 
       
    • Overseeing the procurement of electrical equipment and materials. 
       
  • Maintenance and Operations:
    • Managing the day-to-day operation of electrical systems, monitoring performance parameters, and identifying potential issues. 
       
    • Leading troubleshooting efforts for electrical equipment failures, coordinating with maintenance teams to resolve complex problems. 
       
    • Implementing preventative maintenance plans for electrical systems to minimize downtime and optimize equipment lifespan. 
       
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Mentoring and coaching junior electrical engineers on technical aspects of power plant operations. 
       
    • Providing technical expertise to other departments within the plant, including mechanical and control systems. 
       
    • Staying updated on industry trends and new technologies in power generation and electrical engineering. 
       
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensuring adherence to all electrical safety regulations and procedures within the plant 
       
    • Performing safety inspections and addressing safety concerns related to electrical systems 
       
    • Implementing and maintaining electrical documentation and reporting systems 
       
 
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Extensive experience in power plant operations and electrical systems design
  • Strong understanding of electrical power generation principles, including AC/DC circuits, transformers, generators, and power distribution systems
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and analysis tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Leadership abilities to manage teams and projects effectively
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
