Job Description:
A Mining Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a mining project from conception to completion, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and adheres to safety and environmental regulations, while managing resources, mitigating risks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across the mining operationrequiring strong technical knowledge of mining practices, project management skills, and leadership abilities to navigate complex geological and regulatory environments. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, including detailed work breakdown structures. 
       
    • Manage project phases from feasibility studies through construction and commissioning. 
       
    • Oversee procurement activities, including vendor selection and contract management. 
       
    • Monitor project progress against established timelines and milestones. 
       
  • Resource Management:
    • Allocate and manage project resources efficiently, including personnel, equipment, and materials. 
       
    • Coordinate with various departments within the mining company to ensure seamless project execution. 
       
    • Manage contractor relationships and performance. 
       
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks throughout the project lifecycle and develop mitigation strategies. 
       
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement proactive measures to minimize safety hazards. 
       
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
    • Ensure adherence to all relevant mining regulations, environmental standards, and company policies. 
       
    • Obtain necessary permits and licenses for mining operations. 
       
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, regulatory agencies, local communities, and contractors. 
       
    • Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns promptly. 
       
  • Financial Management:
    • Track project costs and expenditures against the budget. 
       
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement necessary adjustments
