Responsibilities:
- Design and Installation: Mechanical engineers play a crucial role in designing and installing mechanical systems within the DRI plant, including equipment like furnaces, compressors, and conveyors.
- Maintenance and Repair: They are responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshooting: They diagnose and resolve mechanical issues that arise during plant operations.
- Project Execution and Monitoring: They may also be involved in project execution and monitoring for DRI plants, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Manpower Handling: In some roles, they may also handle manpower as a team lead for DRI and related processes.
- Technology Evaluation: They may be involved in evaluating different technologies and suppliers to ensure the best technology is used in the plant.
- Documentation and Inspection: They are responsible for documenting all systems, inspecting incoming materials, and ensuring proper storage.
- Knowledge of Systems: They need a strong understanding of hydraulics, utilities (air and water), EOT cranes, and system erection and commissioning.
