  • Responsibilities:
    • Design and Installation: Mechanical engineers play a crucial role in designing and installing mechanical systems within the DRI plant, including equipment like furnaces, compressors, and conveyors.
    • Maintenance and Repair: They are responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
    • Troubleshooting: They diagnose and resolve mechanical issues that arise during plant operations.
    • Project Execution and Monitoring: They may also be involved in project execution and monitoring for DRI plants, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
    • Manpower Handling: In some roles, they may also handle manpower as a team lead for DRI and related processes.
    • Technology Evaluation: They may be involved in evaluating different technologies and suppliers to ensure the best technology is used in the plant.
