A DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) Operation Shift Incharge Engineer oversees all aspects of the DRI plant during their shift, ensuring smooth operations, managing personnel, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Management:
    • Planning and managing daily production targets to achieve maximum output. 
       
    • Monitoring and controlling the rotary kiln process, often through DCS (Distributed Control System) based controls. 
       
    • Ensuring adherence to process parameters and quality control standards. 
       
    • Analyzing production and consumption reports. 
       
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
    • Ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of all DRI plant equipment, including raw material handling, kiln handling, and product handling systems. 
       
    • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues promptly. 
       
    • Participating in maintenance planning and execution, including shutdown maintenance. 
       
    • Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and procedures. 
       
  • Team Management:
    • Supervising and coordinating the work of process technicians and other shift personnel. 
       
    • Ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the team. 
       
    • Managing manpower effectively to optimize productivity. 
       
  • Quality Control and Cost Reduction:
    • Maintaining quality and quantity of production. 
       
    • Controlling production costs and identifying areas for improvement. 
       
    • Implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime. 
       
  • Safety and Environmental Compliance:
