Job Description:
An electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems in buildings and structures. They also diagnose and resolve electrical issues.
Responsibilities
- Install electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment
- Repair and replace faulty parts in electrical components
- Maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment
- Test electrical systems for problematic components
- Improve and modernize electrical systems
- Design motor power control circuits
- Read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
- Plan and write work orders or instructions
- Complete precautionary maintenance tasks
Skills and qualifications
- Expertise in various electrical systems, tools, and safety regulations
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret them
- Familiarity with commonly-used electrical tools and various components
Education and training High school graduation, Electrical apprenticeship, Valid license to practice profession, and Continuous education to stay updated with changes in electrical codes and technology.
