Role Overview:

We are hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience in estimating, machining, welding, assembly, and testing of custom-engineered products. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of API standards and prior experience working in a manufacturing setup that caters to the oil & gas or energy sector. This is a high-impact role reporting directly to the Director – Operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost and time estimates based on technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
  • Plan and supervise the complete lifecycle of production involving machining, fabrication, welding (MIG/TIG/ARC), mechanical assembly, and pressure testing (hydro/pneumatic).
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes adhere to API, ASME, and ISO standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Quality, Procurement, and Production.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents for accurate job execution.
  • Drive implementation of quality assurance protocols and safety practices on the shop floor.
  • Maintain production logs, inspection records, and test documentation.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to API Q1 and ISO certifications.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians in production best practices.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a heavy engineering or oil & gas manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with API standards (e.g., API 6A, 16A).
  • Proven hands-on expertise in machining, welding, fabrication, and final testing processes.
  • Sound understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and material specifications.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and ERP systems is desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
