Job Description:

 

  • Operation and Monitoring:
    • Manage and supervise the daily operation of coal-fired boilers and associated equipment, including fuel handling systems, combustion controls, and emission control systems.
    • Monitor boiler performance parameters (pressure, temperature, flow rates, etc.) and make necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency and reliability.
    • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
    • Analyze operational data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintenance and Repair:
    • Plan, schedule, and supervise routine and emergency maintenance activities on boilers and auxiliary equipment.
    • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system malfunctions and implement effective repair solutions.
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and ensure preventative maintenance is performed according to schedule.
    • Manage and coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance or repairs.
  • Performance Optimization:
    • Implement strategies to improve boiler efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.
    • Monitor and analyze flue gas emissions to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
    • Identify and implement upgrades or modifications to enhance boiler performance and reliability.
    • Conduct performance testing and analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented changes.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies related to boiler operation and maintenance.
    • Participate in safety audits and incident investigations.
    • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations related to air emissions and waste disposal.
    • Maintain accurate records of boiler operations, maintenance activities, and regulatory compliance.
  • Technical Expertise and Support:
    • Provide technical guidance and support to operations and maintenance teams.
    • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including operating procedures, maintenance manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
    • Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in coal-fired boiler operation and maintenance.
    • Participate in training programs for plant personnel.
  • Project Management:
    • Assist in the planning and execution of capital projects related to boiler upgrades or replacements.
    • Manage small to medium-scale projects related to boiler system improvements.
