Job Description:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to lead our handloom merchandising efforts while overseeing daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for handloom textiles, strong vendor and client management skills, and operational acumen to streamline processes across procurement, production, and delivery.

Merchandising:

  • Develop and manage the product range in alignment with handloom trends and seasonal demands.
  • Coordinate with weavers, artisans, and suppliers to source raw materials and finished products.
  • Monitor sampling and production schedules to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain quality control standards throughout the production process.
  • Liaise with buyers/clients for product development, order confirmations, and updates.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on handloom trends, pricing, and competition.

Operations Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations including inventory, logistics, production, and dispatch.
  • Develop and implement SOPs to optimize operational workflows.
  • Monitor supply chain efficiency and resolve bottlenecks proactively.
  • Manage vendor relationships, procurement cycles, and cost negotiations.
  • Coordinate with accounts for invoicing, budgeting, and payments.
  • Lead a small team for warehouse, packaging, and delivery coordination.

Reporting & Coordination:

  • Provide weekly updates on production, order status, and operational KPIs.
  • Maintain detailed records of orders, inventory, shipments, and vendor performance.
  • Work closely with the design, sales, and marketing teams for cross-functional alignment.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Merchandising, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in merchandising and/or operations (preferably in handloom/textiles).
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google Sheets, and inventory/ERP systems.
  • Passion for handloom, artisan work, and sustainable fashion is a must

Preferred Skills:

  • Fluency in regional languages (Odia, Hindi, English).
  •  Understanding of traditional weaving techniques and artisan clusters.
