Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise Maintenance Operations:

    • Oversee daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring machinery operates at peak efficiency.

    • Supervise and direct a team of maintenance technicians and workers to perform routine and emergency repairs on equipment and machinery.

    • Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks based on production needs and machine performance.

  2. Preventive and Predictive Maintenance:

    • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance (PM) program to avoid unplanned downtime.

    • Monitor and assess machinery performance, scheduling inspections and maintenance as required.

    • Utilize predictive maintenance techniques (e.g., vibration analysis, thermal imaging) to foresee potential failures and address them proactively.

  3. Troubleshooting and Repairs:

    • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex machinery failures, guiding technicians in identifying root causes and developing effective solutions.

    • Oversee the repair, replacement, or adjustment of machinery components, including motors, pumps, conveyors, and other mechanical systems.

  4. Equipment and Parts Inventory Management:

    • Manage and maintain the inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring critical components are readily available.

    • Liaise with suppliers and vendors to procure materials, tools, and parts for maintenance operations.

  5. Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

    • Promote and enforce safety protocols and best practices among the maintenance team.

    • Conduct safety inspections and audits to maintain a safe working environment.

  6. Team Development:

    • Train and mentor maintenance technicians, providing guidance on best practices, troubleshooting methods, and safety procedures.

    • Evaluate team performance and recommend improvements or further training opportunities.

  7. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules.

    • Prepare and submit regular reports on equipment status, maintenance activities, and downtime to management.

    • Track maintenance costs and ensure that operations stay within budget.

  8. Collaboration with Other Departments:

    • Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize machine downtime and optimize machinery performance.

    • Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to production.

  9. Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance machinery reliability and efficiency.

    • Suggest upgrades or modifications to machinery to improve performance and reduce maintenance costs.
