Job Title: Business Development Associate – Clothing Manufacturing

Location: [Ahmedabad]
Department: Sales / Business Development
Reports To: Business Development Manager / Director
Job Type: Full-time

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead Generation & Prospecting:

    • Identify and research potential clients including fashion brands, exporters, wholesalers, and retailers.

    • Generate qualified leads through online platforms, trade shows, and networking.

  2. Client Outreach & Relationship Building:

    • Initiate and manage communication with prospective clients.

    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts.

  3. Market Research & Strategy:

    • Analyze market trends and competitor activity in the clothing manufacturing industry.

    • Recommend strategies to improve positioning and secure new contracts.

  4. Proposal & Quotation Management:

    • Prepare proposals, pricing quotes, and presentations based on client requirements.

    • Collaborate with production and costing teams for accurate and competitive offers.

  5. Sales Pipeline Management:

    • Track leads, opportunities, and conversion rates using CRM tools.

    • Report on sales performance and pipeline status regularly.

  6. Negotiation & Closing Deals:

    • Support contract negotiations and ensure alignment with internal capabilities.

    • Close deals while maintaining profitable margins and client satisfaction.

  7. Coordination with Internal Teams:

    • Work closely with production, design, and quality teams to ensure successful order execution.

    • Act as a communication bridge between clients and internal departments.

  8. Client Support & Follow-up:

    • Ensure excellent client service during onboarding and order lifecycle.

    • Follow up for feedback, reorders, and ongoing opportunities.

  9. Networking & Events:

    • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and trade fairs.

    • Expand the company's visibility in the fashion and textile industry.

  10. Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, deals, and communications.

  • Provide weekly/monthly reports on progress and targets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Management, or related field.

  • 1–3 years of experience in B2B sales or business development (preferably in apparel/textile industry).

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM software, and online business platforms (LinkedIn, B2B portals).

  • Understanding of garment manufacturing processes and terminology is a plus.
