Job Description:
A Block Senior Fitter is a highly skilled tradesperson responsible for the assembly, installation, and maintenance of metal components and machinery, typically within a specific industrial or construction context. They may also be responsible for training and supervising junior fitters. 
 
Key Responsibilities of a Block Senior Fitter:
  • Assembly and Installation:
    Block Senior Fitters are skilled at assembling and installing various metal components and machinery, ensuring they meet precise specifications and safety standards. 
     
  • Maintenance and Repair:
    They perform routine maintenance on equipment, diagnose and repair malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance. 
     
  • Blueprint Interpretation:
    They read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and other documentation to understand project specifications and ensure accuracy in their work. 
     
  • Tool and Equipment Usage:
    They are proficient in using a wide range of hand tools and power tools, as well as specialized equipment required for fitting and assembly. 
     
  • Supervision and Training:
    Senior fitters may be responsible for supervising and training junior fitters, ensuring they understand proper procedures and safety protocols. 
     
  • Quality Control:
    They ensure that all work meets quality standards and specifications, identifying and addressing any issues that arise. 
     
  • Safety Compliance:
    They adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment for themselves and others. 
     
  • Problem Solving:
    They identify and solve problems that arise during the assembly or maintenance process, using their expertise and analytical skills.
