Job Description:
A CHP (Combined Heat and Power) Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a combined heat and power plant, which generates both electricity and heat from a single sourceThey monitor systems, perform routine maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operating and Monitoring CHP Systems:
    Operators monitor the plant's various systems using control panels and instrumentation to ensure efficient and safe operation. 
     
  • Routine Maintenance:
    They perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment, such as checking fluid levels, ensuring proper lubrication, and conducting visual inspections. 
     
  • Fuel Handling:
    CHP operators may be responsible for handling and storing fuel, such as coal, gas, or biomass, depending on the plant's fuel source. 
     
  • Compliance and Safety:
    They ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards, and report any incidents or anomalies. 
     
  • Problem Solving:
    Operators are often required to identify and resolve issues that may arise during operation, including troubleshooting equipment malfunctions. 
     
  • Data Logging:
    They record and input data related to plant operations, including fuel consumption, electricity generation, and heat output. 
     
  • Coordination:
    They may coordinate with other departments, such as maintenance and operations, to ensure smooth plant operation.
