Senior Merchandiser - Product Development

Job Description:

1. Planning and Execution:

   Develops and implements merchandising strategies, plans and communicates development calendars and project plans, and ensures timely execution of orders and shipments. 

    
2. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

   Works with design, sourcing, and garment technology teams to drive product creation and address any issues. 

    
3. Costing and Budgeting:

   Applies predictive costing, reviews costing information, and ensures target prices align with product designs. 

    
4. Quality Control:

   Supervises sample making, maintains quality standards, and ensures timely execution of inspections. 

    
5. Market Analysis:

   Analyzes sales figures, customer reactions, and market trends to anticipate product needs. 

    
6. Team Management:

   May manage a team of merchandisers and assist in their development. 

    
7. Vendor Management:

   Manages relationships with vendors, negotiates prices, and oversees order placement. 

    
8. Problem Solving:

   Identifies and resolves issues related to product development and production. 

    
9. Innovation:

   Identifies opportunities for cost savings, new vendors, and innovation in product development.
