Job Purpose:
To develop, drive, and manage strategic initiatives for the group insurance business, including group term life, gratuity, superannuation, and other employer-employee benefit schemes. The role involves market analysis, strategic planning, partnership development, and supporting the sales and distribution team to meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution
Develop and implement long-term and short-term strategies to grow group insurance business.
Analyze business performance, market trends, and competitive landscape to support strategic decision-making.
Identify growth opportunities in group products (e.g., GTL, Group Credit Life, Group Retirement).
Lead strategic projects such as entry into new markets or segments.
Sales Enablement & Channel Strategy
Support the group sales team with business intelligence, data analytics, and strategic inputs.
Evaluate and refine distribution channel strategies including brokers, corporate agents, and direct models.
Design performance metrics and dashboards to track effectiveness of group sales initiatives.
Product & Proposition Development
Work with product and actuarial teams to design innovative and competitive group insurance products.
Support go-to-market plans for new propositions tailored to SMEs, large corporates, and affinity groups.
Benchmark against competition and global best practices in employee benefits.
Partnerships & Alliances
Identify and evaluate strategic partnerships to scale group business (e.g., with banks, HR tech firms, digital aggregators).
Collaborate with BD and alliance teams to onboard and manage key institutional relationships.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Liaise with underwriting, operations, technology, and customer service teams to improve service delivery and digital journey for group clients.
Work with marketing on brand positioning and campaign strategies targeted at corporates and institutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
MBA or equivalent from a reputed institute (preferred).
5–10 years of experience in strategy, consulting, or business development in life insurance or financial services.
Experience in group insurance or B2B business models is a strong plus.
Prior experience in management consulting (insurance practice) or corporate strategy roles is advantageous.

Sound understanding of life insurance products and regulatory framework (IRDAI).
