SR. FITTER/FITTER FERRO MECHANICAL FOR STEEL MANUFACTURING - RAIPUR , CHHATTISGARH

Responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical components, equipment, and structures made of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Ensures all mechanical systems operate efficiently and meet quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications for mechanical assemblies.

2. Fabricate, fit, and assemble metal components using hand tools, power tools, and machines.

3. Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and finishing operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

4. Install, align, and maintain mechanical equipment, pipelines, and machinery.

5. Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance.

6. Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement effective solutions.

7. Ensure compliance with safety standards, work procedures, and quality guidelines.

8. Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other trades for project execution.

9. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and assembly work.

10. Mentor junior fitters and provide guidance on mechanical tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a mechanical fitter, preferably in ferro or heavy metal industries.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and machines.

• Proficient in welding, grinding, and fitting techniques.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Knowledge of safety procedures and quality standards.

• Physical stamina and ability to work in industrial environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in mechanical fitting, welding, or industrial maintenance.

• Experience with CNC machines and precision tools.

• Leadership skills for mentoring junior team members.
