Job Description:

• Assembly and installation: Fit and assemble mechanical components for machinery such as furnaces, cranes, and continuous casting machines (CCMs).
• Maintenance and repair: Perform both preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on mechanical systems and equipment.
• Diagnostics: Conduct diagnostic tests on malfunctioning systems to identify and fix the root cause of the problem.
• Fabrication: Construct structural components from raw materials using tools like shears, power saws, and welding equipment.
• Blueprint interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand component specifications.
• Inspection: Inspect fabricated and repaired components to ensure they meet quality and size specifications.
• Safety compliance: Adhere to all work-site safety rules and regulations. 

• Mechanical aptitude: A strong understanding of mechanical systems and how they work.
• Tool proficiency: Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, as well as measuring instruments.
• Technical skills: Skills in fitting, alignment accuracy, welding, and pipework.
• Reading technical drawings: Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints and specifications.
• Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and solve mechanical problems.
• Safety awareness: Knowledge of workshop safety and regulations is essential.
