Job Description:
A Sales & Purchase Head is a senior management position responsible for leading both the sales and purchasing (or procurement) functions within an organization. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to drive revenue growth through sales while ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. The individual in this role is a key stakeholder in the company's overall success, often reporting to the Chief Financial Officer or Chief Operating Officer.
Responsibilities of a Sales & Purchase Head:
Sales-Related:

Developing and implementing sales strategies:Creating and executing plans to achieve revenue targets, identifying new market opportunities, and analyzing sales data to optimize performance.

Managing and motivating the sales team:Recruiting, training, coaching, and providing ongoing support to the sales team to foster a high-performing and motivated sales force.

Building and maintaining customer relationships:Developing strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs, and ensuring their satisfaction.

Monitoring sales performance:Tracking sales metrics, providing regular feedback, and making necessary adjustments to sales strategies to ensure targets are met.

Leading presentations and business development:Presenting to potential clients and participating in key business meetings.

Negotiating and closing deals:Utilizing strong influencing and negotiation skills to secure deals and partnerships.
Purchase/Procurement-Related:
- Developing and implementing purchasing strategies: Creating strategies to optimize procurement processes, manage costs, and ensure the timely and efficient acquisition of goods and services.
- Managing the purchasing team: Providing leadership, guidance, and performance evaluations for the procurement team.
- Identifying and evaluating suppliers: Identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and establishing long-term relationships to ensure a reliable supply chain.
- Managing supplier performance: Evaluating supplier performance based on quality, timeliness, and price.
- Managing inventory and costs: Ensuring optimal inventory levels, controlling costs, and managing the purchasing budget.
- Staying up-to-date on industry trends: Continuously evaluating market conditions, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies to drive competitive advantage.
- Negotiating contracts: Negotiating favorable terms and conditions with suppliers.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and management skills: Ability to motivate, manage, and develop a team.
