Job Description:
A Store Officer is responsible for managing inventory, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials within a store or warehouseThey oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, and may also be involved in stock control, order fulfillment, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
    • Inventory Management:
      Maintaining accurate records of stock levels, conducting regular stock checks, and reconciling discrepancies. 
       
  • Receipt and Storage:
    Overseeing the receipt of incoming goods, ensuring they match purchase orders and delivery notes, and storing them appropriately. 
     
  • Dispatch and Issuance:
    Fulfilling orders and requisitions, ensuring the correct items and quantities are issued, and maintaining records of transactions. 
     
  • Record Keeping:
    Utilizing inventory management software or other systems to track stock levels, transactions, and other relevant data. 
     
  • Compliance and Safety:
    Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining a safe and organized workspace, and adhering to company policies. 
     
  • Coordination:
    Collaborating with other departments, such as procurement, production, and logistics, to ensure the timely availability of materials. 
     
  • Supervision:
    In some cases, store officers may be responsible for supervising store staff, providing training, and delegating tasks. 
     
  • Reporting:
    Generating reports on inventory levels, stock movement, and other relevant data for management review. 
     
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Organizational Skills:
    Ability to manage inventory, track stock levels, and maintain accurate records. 
     
  • Communication Skills:
    Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and other stakeholders. 
     
  • Computer Literacy:
    Proficiency in using inventory management software and other relevant computer systems. 
     
  • Problem-Solving Skills:
    Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory or other issues. 
     
  • Physical Stamina:
    Ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, carrying, and moving materials. 
     
  • Knowledge of Safety Procedures:
    Understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to storage and handling of materials. 
     
  • Attention to Detail:
    Ability to accurately count, label, and record inventory items.
