Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lab Chemist to join our dynamic R&D and Quality Control team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting chemical analyses, developing new color formulations, ensuring product quality, and contributing to process optimization within our state-of-the-art laboratory. This role requires a strong understanding of color science, analytical techniques, and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Color Development & Formulation:

    • Develop new color formulations and maintain existing ones to meet customer specifications and market trends.

    • Conduct experiments to create new dye/pigment recipes, exploring various chemical compounds and their properties.

    • Optimize formulations for shade, strength, fastness properties, and application suitability across different substrates.

    • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product management to understand and translate customer color requirements into technical solutions.

  • Quality Control & Assurance:

    • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using various analytical techniques (e.g., spectrophotometry, chromatography, titrations).

    • Conduct color matching and testing to ensure color accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established standards and tolerances.

    • Monitor color reliability during production and troubleshoot any deviations or quality issues.

    • Implement and adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and company ISO 9001 standards.

  • Research & Process Improvement:

    • Assist in research and development activities for new product innovation, exploring novel materials and technologies.

    • Investigate and troubleshoot analytical and process-related issues, identifying root causes and proposing corrective actions.

    • Develop and validate new analytical methods to enhance testing accuracy and efficiency.

    • Contribute to improving the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of color production processes.

  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experimental protocols, observations, results, and formulation adjustments.

    • Generate comprehensive reports on analysis findings, project progress, and quality control data.

    • Prepare and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory processes.

  • Equipment Management:

    • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, including color measurement instruments (e.g., spectrophotometers), titrators, chromatographs, etc.

    • Ensure proper functioning and troubleshooting of instruments.

  • Safety & Compliance:

    • Strictly adhere to all laboratory safety protocols, regulations, and hazardous material handling guidelines.

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.

    • Stay updated on relevant industry regulations (e.g., REACH, RoHS) and ensure product compliance.

  • Collaboration:

    • Work effectively with cross-functional teams including R&D, Production, Quality Assurance, and Sales.
