Job Title: Senior Industrial Automation Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrial Automation Engineer with 8 to 10 years of
hands-on experience in designing, developing, and commissioning automation systems
using Siemens (Step 7, TIA Portal), Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix), and AVEVA
System Platform SCADA (formerly Wonderware). The ideal candidate will have a strong
background in process automation, preferably in the water and wastewater treatment
industry, along with proven leadership abilities to lead and mentor a team of 4–5 engineers.
You will be responsible for leading automation projects from concept to commissioning,
managing a team, and ensuring robust, reliable, and efficient control system
implementations.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 4–5 automation engineers in project delivery and technical
execution.
- Design, develop, test, and commission automation systems using Siemens and Allen-
Bradley PLCs.
- Configure and deploy SCADA applications using AVEVA System Platform (Application
Server, InTouch OMI, Historian).
- Develop PLC and SCADA architectures including network layouts, I/O mapping, and
control philosophies.
- Lead engineering design reviews, ensure code quality, and implement standardization
across the team.
- Manage workload, assign tasks, and provide technical guidance to the team throughout the
project lifecycle.
- Work on water/wastewater treatment projects including filtration, dosing, pumping
stations, chlorination, aeration, sludge management, etc.
- Interpret and work from P&IDs, control narratives, and functional specifications.
- Lead FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test), and commissioning
activities.
- Collaborate with instrumentation, process, and electrical engineers to integrate systems.

Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISA, IEC, NFPA), cybersecurity practices, and
documentation requirements.
- Support project managers with technical inputs, progress tracking, and risk mitigation.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–10 years of experience in industrial automation engineering.
- Proven experience leading a team of automation engineers or technicians.
- Expertise in Siemens PLCs (S7-300/400/1500, TIA Portal, Step 7) and Allen-Bradley PLCs
(ControlLogix, CompactLogix, RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000).
- Strong experience with AVEVA System Platform, InTouch HMI, Historian, and scripting in
ArchestrA.
- Proven track record in process automation for water and/or wastewater treatment plants.
- Familiarity with communication protocols like Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet,
OPC DA/UA.
- Experience with SCADA alarming, historian data management, and client access layers.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation and control system integration.
- Good documentation skills including IO lists, control narratives, loop drawings, and test
protocols.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related Engineering field.
- Experience with Industrial networking, VLANs, and cybersecurity in OT environments.
- Working knowledge of Batch control, Redundant PLC systems, or Fail-safe architectures.
- Prior exposure to ISA S88/S95, water utility standards, or government water sector
projects.
