Senior Java Full Stack Developer

Job Description:

Position: Java full stack developer

Having experience with government clients is a huge plus

Location :  Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable full stack applications with a focus on performance, security, and AODA compliance.
  
  
• Translate system specifications into fully functional, tested code.
  
  
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate them with modern front-end frameworks.
  
  
• Develop and maintain relational database schemas (Oracle preferred) and optimize SQL scripts.
  
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across environments.
  
  
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  
  
• Collaborate with business analysts, testers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  
  
• Ensure CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes are optimized and reliable.
  
  
• Provide system and user documentation, post-implementation support, and maintenance as needed.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

Programming & Development – 65% Weighting

• 10+ years of full stack development experience with strong skills in:
  
  
• Java, J2EE, JSF
  
  
• HTML/DHTML, XML/XSL
  
  
• Oracle SQL and database development
  
  
• Experience with open-source frameworks/tools:
  
  
• Spring, MyBatis, Bootstrap, jQuery
  
  
• Proven hands-on experience in:
  
  
• n-tier web-based applications
  
  
• Web services and REST APIs
  
  
• Responsive front-end development
  
  
• AODA-compliant UI implementation
  
  
• Jasper Reports or equivalent reporting tools
  
  
• Experience in SDLC methodologies including Agile and Iterative
  
  

Analytical & Problem-Solving – 30% Weighting

• Strong analytical skills to assess system requirements and recommend effective solutions

Public Sector Experience – 5% Weighting

Experience with Ontario Public Service (OPS) or broader Public Sector standards (e.g., GO–ITS, TRA, PIA) is considered a strong asset
