Job Description:

 

  • ETP Operations & Monitoring:

    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the ETP, including physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes.

    • Monitor key parameters such as pH, COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand), TSS (Total Suspended Solids), TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), and other relevant parameters as per regulatory requirements.

    • Ensure the ETP operates within established discharge norms and compliance with local and national environmental regulations (e.g., CPCB norms in India).

    • Conduct regular visual inspections of the ETP plant, equipment, and surrounding areas.

  • Chemical Analysis & Quality Control:

    • Collect and analyze effluent samples from various stages of the ETP and final discharge.

    • Perform laboratory tests using standard analytical techniques and maintain accurate records of results.

    • Prepare and standardize chemical reagents required for analysis.

    • Identify deviations from desired parameters and initiate corrective actions promptly.

  • Process Optimization & Troubleshooting:

    • Optimize chemical dosing (coagulants, flocculants, pH correctors, etc.) to achieve efficient treatment and reduce operational costs.

    • Troubleshoot ETP operational issues such as unusual odors, high pollutant levels, sludge issues, or equipment malfunctions.

    • Implement preventive maintenance programs for ETP equipment.

    • Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance ETP efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain detailed and accurate records of ETP operations, chemical consumption, analytical data, and maintenance activities.

    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on ETP performance, compliance status, and any incidents.

    • Assist in preparing reports for submission to regulatory bodies.

  • Safety & Compliance:

    • Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and procedures within the ETP area, including handling of hazardous chemicals.

    • Conduct safety audits and training for ETP operators/assistants.

    • Stay updated with the latest environmental laws, regulations, and best practices related to wastewater treatment in the ink industry.

    • Participate in internal and external environmental audits.

  • Waste Management:

    • Manage the disposal of ETP sludge and other waste generated, ensuring compliance with hazardous waste management rules.

    • Explore opportunities for waste reduction and recycling within the ETP process.

  • Team Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth ETP operations and address any effluent-related concerns.

    • Train and guide ETP operators/assistants on proper operating procedures and safety measures.
