Job Description:
A Shift Incharge in DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) operations is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of plant operations during their designated shift. This includes coordinating with various departments, ensuring efficient production, and maintaining quality and safety standards. They are also involved in troubleshooting operational issues, maintaining logs, and preparing for scheduled shutdowns.

- Overseeing all activities necessary for the execution of ongoing and new projects within the assigned shift.
- Directing and coordinating the activities of production staff, maintenance teams, and other relevant personnel.
- Ensuring efficient use of materials, equipment, and manpower.

- Ensuring production targets are met during the shift.
- Monitoring and maintaining quality control procedures.
- Troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions.

- Conducting routine inspections of equipment, monitoring operating parameters, and addressing any abnormalities.
- Tuning process control instruments and maintaining proper recording of concerns and tasks.
- Preparing for scheduled shutdowns and performing necessary tasks during unscheduled shutdowns.

- Maintaining daily logbooks and reporting any defects or issues to the relevant personnel.
- Preparing monthly turnover projections and other relevant reports.

- Troubleshooting issues related to the DRI process, such as uneven heating, material flow problems, or equipment malfunctions.
Essentially, the Shift Incharge in a DRI operation acts as the point person for all activities within their shift, ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe production of DRI.
