Job Description:

Operations and Production Management

  • Oversee all plant operations: You'll have complete oversight of daily activities, including production, maintenance, utilities, quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC), and logistics.

  • Optimize production: You'll be responsible for production planning to meet targets, maximize efficiency, and ensure product quality while minimizing waste and cost. This involves implementing best practices in the manufacturing process, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.

  • Drive continuous improvement: You will lead initiatives for process optimization, debottlenecking, and capacity expansion projects (CAPEX) to enhance plant performance and profitability.

  • Troubleshooting: You'll be the ultimate authority for troubleshooting and resolving operational issues, from process deviations to equipment breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to production.

Safety, Health, and Environment (EHS)

  • Ensure compliance: Given the hazardous nature of PNCB and the chemicals used in its production (e.g., strong acids like sulfuric and nitric acid), you must enforce strict adherence to all EHS guidelines, regulatory standards (like OSHA), and company policies.

  • Cultivate a safety culture: You'll be responsible for promoting and maintaining a culture of safety across all levels of the plant, ensuring zero incidents and fostering a proactive approach to risk management.

  • Manage waste and emissions: You'll oversee all waste management and pollution control systems, including ensuring compliance with zero liquid discharge (ZLD) requirements and other environmental regulations.

Financial and Business Management

  • Manage budgets: You'll be accountable for the plant's profit and loss (P&L), controlling operational budgets, capital expenditures, and ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

  • Liaise with stakeholders: You'll act as the primary point of contact between the plant and corporate leadership, as well as with external stakeholders like regulatory bodies, vendors, and local authorities.

  • Reporting: You will prepare and present management information systems (MIS) reports to senior leadership on key performance indicators (KPIs), production metrics, and financial performance.

People and Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor: You'll lead a team of functional heads and managers across different departments, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional development.

  • Manage manpower: You will be responsible for manpower planning, recruitment, and training to ensure the plant has the skilled workforce needed to meet its objectives.

  • Promote teamwork: You'll foster a collaborative environment and resolve conflicts to ensure smooth inter-departmental coordination.
