Job Description:

Morning Meeting & Planning

  • Conduct a morning briefing with Floor Manager, Sales Manager, and staff.
  • Review yesterday’s sales performance, today’s targets, pending deliveries, and customer appointments.
  • Assign daily responsibilities to Floor Manager (floor discipline & customer allocation) and Sales Manager (sales target distribution & monitoring).
  • Share updates from management, HR, or compliance requirements.

Store Operations

  • Ensure timely opening and closing of the store with proper security checks.
  • Verify that showcases, counters, and displays are clean, organized, and attractive.
  • Check that CCTV, billing systems, lights, and safety equipment are functional.

Sales & Customer Service

  • Guide the Sales Manager and team on upselling, cross-selling, and promotional offers.
  • Personally handle VIP customers and high-value transactions.
  • Review ongoing customer orders, approvals, and delivery commitments.

Inventory & Stock

  • Verify stock movement (inward, outward, sales, returns, and repairs).
  • Ensure proper tagging, hallmarking, and GST billing.
  • Conduct surprise stock checks along with Floor Manager.

Cash & Finance

  • Review billing records, POS sales, and daily collection summary.
  • Match cash-in-hand vs. system reports before store closing.
  • Approve expenses/petty cash vouchers.

Team & HR Coordination

  • Work closely with the HR Manager for:
  • Staff attendance and leave approvals.
  • Grooming standards and discipline monitoring.
  • Staff grievances, training, and performance improvement.
  • Support HR in onboarding new staff and mentoring them.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure GST-compliant invoicing and BIS hallmark standards.
  • Check security arrangements (guards, CCTV, alarms) with Floor Manager.
  • Maintain KYC for high-value transactions as per regulations.

Responsibilities

Sales & Business Growth

  • Drive the team to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Guide Sales Manager on daily/weekly performance reviews.
  • Plan marketing campaigns, festive promotions, and seasonal offers with management.
  • Analyze sales trends, competitor activities, and suggest improvements.

Staff Management & Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Floor Manager for floor discipline, customer allocation, and housekeeping.
  • Work with Sales Manager to set individual sales targets and monitor performance.
  • Collaborate with HR Manager for training, appraisals, and staff motivation programs.
  • Maintain strong team spirit through open communication, coaching, and recognition.

Inventory & Stock Control

  • Conduct monthly and annual stock audits with Floor Manager.
  • Ensure accurate stock reconciliation and minimize shrinkage/pilferage.
  • Approve goldsmith/vendor stock movements and repair authorizations.

Financial & Compliance Management

  • Ensure adherence to all legal and financial guidelines (GST, hallmarking, labour laws).
  • Approve vendor invoices, salary sheets, and store-related expenses in coordination with accounts and HR.
  • Present monthly audit reports to senior management.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build loyalty by maintaining strong relations with repeat and premium clients.
  • Handle escalations for disputes, refunds, or product complaints.
  • Ensure CRM activities like festival greetings, wedding/anniversary reminders, and loyalty benefits.

Safety & Security

  • Ensure jewellery stock and staff are protected through strict security checks.
  • Conduct annual security audits with management.
  • Ensure insurance policies for stock and staff safety are updated.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Submit daily, monthly, and yearly reports (sales, stock, HR, audit) to management.
  • Align closely with Directors/Owners on strategy and store growth plans.
  • Act as a bridge between management and staff for smooth communication.
