Job Description:
An assistant accountant supports accounting departments by performing routine financial tasks such as processing invoices, maintaining ledgers, reconciling bank statements, and assisting with payroll and tax preparation. Key responsibilities include data entry, bookkeeping, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Essential skills for this role are proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.
Key Responsibilities

Data Entry & Record Keeping:Accurately entering financial transactions into accounting software and maintaining organized digital and physical financial records.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:Processing incoming invoices, preparing bills for payment, tracking payments, and managing accounts receivable.

Bank Reconciliation:Reconciling bank statements and monitoring accounts for discrepancies.

Payroll Support:Assisting with payroll processing by verifying employee hours and deductions.

Financial Reporting:Helping to prepare various financial reports, including expense reports and budget forecasts, to support senior accountants.

Auditing & Compliance:Assisting with audits and ensuring adherence to financial regulations and company policies.
