Job Description:
An Accountant/Sr. Accountant job description involves managing and analyzing financial records, preparing financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and overseeing accounting operations. Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.

Account Management:Oversee and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and subsidiary ledgers.

Analysis & Forecasting:Analyze financial data, track budgets, and create financial forecasts to predict future performance.

Compliance:Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), internal accounting policies, and relevant financial laws.

Audits:Support and coordinate with internal and external auditors, preparing necessary documentation.

Taxation:Handle tax-related duties, including preparing and filing tax returns and ensuring compliance with tax laws.

Process Improvement:Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes and internal controls.

Management & Training:Mentor and oversee junior accounting staff, and assist in setting departmental goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is typically required.

Certifications:A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification is often preferred.

Technical Skills:Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, and proficiency with accounting software.
