Job Description
The Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the deployment of IT releases across the bank’s technology landscape.
This role ensures that software and infrastructure changes are delivered in a controlled, secure, and efficient manner, minimizing risk and disruption to business operations.
The position requires strong coordination skills, deep understanding of release governance, and experience working in complex, regulated environments.
Responsibilities
Managerial Responsibilities:

Leadership: Provide strategic direction for release management, ensuring alignment with IT and business goals.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with development, infrastructure, testing, and business teams to manage release schedules and dependencies.
Governance: Define and enforce release policies, standards, and controls to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
Team Oversight: Oversee a team of deployment engineers responsible for managing Kubernetes clusters and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Continuous Improvement: Drive process enhancements and automation to improve release efficiency and quality.
Functional Responsibilities:

Release Planning: Develop and maintain integrated release calendars across applications and platforms.
Coordination & Execution: Manage end-to-end release lifecycle - from planning and build to deployment and post-release validation.
Risk & Impact Assessment: Evaluate release readiness, risks, and business impacts. Ensure rollback plans are in place.
Tool Utilization: Use ITSM and CI/CD tools (e.g., ServiceNow, GitLab) to manage and track releases.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure releases meet regulatory and internal compliance standards. Provide dashboards and reports to leadership.
Incident Support: Collaborate during major incidents to assess release-related impacts and support recovery.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certifications in ITIL, Release Management, or DevOps practices are preferred.

Min Exp: 10 years

Max Exp: 15 years

Experience in IT service delivery or operations, with at least 5 years in release management.
Proven experience managing complex, multi-platform releases in a regulated industry such as banking or financial services
