Job Description:

A Senior Accountant manages financial accounting processes, ensures the accuracy and compliance of financial reports, and oversees general ledger activities. Key duties include preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, leading month-end closing, and analyzing complex financial data to provide insights for executive decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, thorough knowledge of accounting principles like GAAP, and often involves supervising junior staff and liaising with management on financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, analyze financial data, and provide insightful reports to management.
General Ledger & Reconciliation:

Oversee and maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and manage bank statements to ensure accuracy.
Process & Control Management:

Develop and document business processes and accounting policies, strengthen internal controls, and ensure compliance with GAAP.
Auditing & Compliance:

Support internal and external audits, assist with tax returns and audits, and ensure all financial activities are compliant with regulations.
Financial Planning & Budgeting:

Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Team Leadership:

The company is in midst of implementing a 0.42 Million Tonne Per Annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant to produce steel. Steel thus produced will consume 0.315 Million Tonne Sponge Iron from the proposed unit and 0.03 Million Tonne from the existing unit. Thus consuming the entire quantity of high grade sponge iron produced in its own manufacturing facilities. When iron is smelted from its ore by commercial processes, it contains more carbon, phosphorus, sulphar etc. than is desirable. To produce high quality steel, the elements must be brought to the within the desirable limits. The liquid steel is processed through AOD and VOD furnaces to achieve the desirable limits of elements. The liquid is then continuously casted into long slabs or through ingots.
